Huddersfield - the lost legions

Attendances continue to fall at the Galpharm Stadium, according to the latest figures.

Even taking into account the increased numbers watching the Birmingham City FA Cup game, and the following increased crowds for the home game against Gillingham brought about by the tremendous victory over the midlands premiership side.

The trend is still downward by over a thousand from the beginning of the season.

Figures that I doubt will have escaped the notice of Chairman Ken Davy and his financial staff.

Fortunately the revenues from the cup run will offset this loss of gate revenue.

Whilst we can understand the declining desire by over a thousand terriers to watch, what at times is poor fare at the Galpharm, we would still urge everyone to go and support the team whenever possible.

Well lets have some good football spend some money on players get the casino red girls back down, and some different half time entertainment get the Gippo off the field announcing the teams (You cant hear a word he says) and am sure People will come back - sorry for the rant

Decent football is the main thing isn't it. A bigish name signing would wpork wonders too. A still half decent Cham, or ex prem player coming to the end of his career, like Sinclair, could bring a few in.

just where are we all? 05/06 season we had an average attendance of what we got for brum this season. if we'd have played brum in the cup in 05/06 there would've been around 20000 because thats what we got for big games back then (sadford barnsley in play offs and forest) but where is everyone? simple as if you're a true fan you go to all the games no matter what

Heres a few reasons, poor football, lack of passion on the pitch, poor atmosphere in the galpharm when full, half empty its very poor. Pricing for quality of football is too high. Fans feel less attached to ther club due to Davy and Ritchies veil of secrecy, lack of info on many issues. Recent years lack of success is attracting fewer new young fans. Times have changed and the behaviour of some of the nutcases is putting off some other supporters. Solutions, Davy spend some money on a decent signing or two. Ritchie up your attitude your interviews are poor, and information giving to the fans. Create a good home end like the pink link stand for singing etc to create some atmosphere, be tougher on the nutters, and reduce prices or have many more offers. Its obvious by these figures which look even worse compared to a few seasons ago the club cannot rely on blind loyalty any more, they will have to work hard to get the fans back. Gone on too long, will shut up now. !!!

Im a passionate Spurs fan but went to a first town game for 4years vs gillingham last month to watch my mates brother play (james berrett). What i noticed was shocking scores of fans leaving after 70mins even when the game was still alive, booing, no atmosphere nothing just scores of fans shouting at the same side that just beat premiership Birmingham. Compared to white hart lane where there constant singing its clearly noticable. Until the attitude of town fans improves and fans instead of sitting there miserable (you know the sort, miserable old men moaning at the team all game sat next 2 you)actually start singing and cheering everything then nothing will ever happen down at the 'pharm.

I think you are sadly right Mr Spurs to some degree, the reason these guys are being noticed more is because with fewer and fewer new fans, the older fan is a greater percentage. We could most certainly 100% for sure for sure do with more singing, and cheering. Berretts got a future, ritchie certainly rates him.
