'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Huddersfield - Its Elvis time

Yes indeed pop pickers, and Huddersfield fans, it is fast approaching the 'It's now or never' time for club and management.

The following sixteen players contracts are up at the end of the season.

I can easily see that potentially less than half of these players could be with Huddersfield Town next season.

Lucas Akins, Mitchell Bailey, James Berrett, Andy Booth, Chris Brandon, Danny Broadbent, Matt Glennon, Aaron Hardy, Luke Malcher, Rob Page, Danny Racchi, Danny Schofield, Frank Sinclair, Joe Skarz, Alex Smithies and Matt Young.

Of course the large number of contract renewals does offer any manager a huge opportunity to mould the squad into one of his liking.

This is why it is Vitally important for Chairman Ken Davy and his staff to decide before the end of the season if Andy Ritchie is the man for the job.

It would be foolhardy in the extreme to let Ritchie conduct all these contractual negotiations, if Davy's thoughts are to dismiss the manager in say October/November time if we get off to a bad start next season.

In my view a decision has really got to be made soon.
That is why I think the fixtures between now and the end of the season are still very important for the players and even more so for the manager.

Let us know your views, on both Ritchie and who you would retain or not.

Jesus I think that we should let ritchie let them go keep sinclair and page for defo I would have kept schoey as he does posses skill but now he wants to leave i wish him well he has been my fav player for a long time i would keep brandon but if we were to get real quality players in then im happy to let whoever go if we won the league next season! we defo need strikers with pace strength etc!!!

Some good question here, Mr Brown. Davy should decide on Ritchie at the end of March/April time, if we are still in the relative mire, got to change for the sake of the club. Its too important a task to leave to a manager that has left us mid to lower table if that happens. If he gets us to 6th-12th ish ok give it a go with him. Players wise, I would keep Page, and Brandon from the older end and Skarz and Smithies only from the youngsters. Boothy its up to him if he wants to continue, great give him another year.

i dnt think boothy has another year in him to be honest eddie i would love him to because he is a legend but i dnt want to look back at his last year as been an injury plagued one as it has been recently Andy is HTFC through n through he lives near my dad and is a quality bloke look at all he has done he is only 1 man and cant go forever i would like to see him get a contract and maybe become player/manager????????????????????

You have got to say Ritchies PR skills, interview answers etc are very poor. in that regard he is an ameteur and will never make it at a higher level. He sounds absolutelt dull and lifeless when interviewed. Passion man passion, show some.
