With the excellent feedback I received from my article about the transfer rumours I have decided to write more, to keep you informed about the latest rumours and signings throughout pre-season. With Ternent stating, 'we won't be rushing into anything because it's obviously crucial we get the right people on board', its a case of 'patience is a virtue' on the signing front. However, that has not stopped the rumours from circulating so here's the list of this weeks top rumours for you to browse through:
Keigan Parker (Ex Blackpool) - Unsurprising Keigan is top of the rumour list as he is the only player thus far that has been directly linked with Town. He was prolific at Blackpool and should give us plenty of fire power, however town are likely to have competition from Southampton, Aberdeen and Swansea to get him on board.
Liam Dickinson (Stockport) - The pacy 22 year old striker is still a big possibility after rumours of Jeppo's scouting and Ternent stating Town will wait until after the play offs to look at some of their targets.
Chris Lucketti (Sheff U) - Lucketti has a very big link with Town as the replacement for Page. He is still one of the only defenders to be rumoured to be on his way to Town at this stage.
Alan Thompson (Leeds) - This could be the 'ex England midfielder', who may be on his way. His experience would certainly be beneficial to our young midfield.
Lee Hendrie (Leicester) - See above.
Nick Barmby - Another possibility for the 'Ex England Midfielder', but it is unlikely he will drop down to league one after doing so well for Hull in the Championship unless the money is right.
Chris Commons (Ex Notts Forrest) - Not very likely would be a bit of an understatement in my opinion, but you never know I suppose. After his voluntary release from Nottingham Forest some people are rumouring a link with town so I had to mention him. A move to Derby is most likely for Chris.
Darren Huckerby (Ex Norwich) - We are still in with a chance of landing Huckerby if he will drop down a division. Town's budget may be stretched to bring this guy on board though.
John Stead (Sheff U) - Whilst United look to build their squad for a promotion push next season, Steady is still a possibility. His previous spell at Town is also keeping his rumoured, but in my opinion we'd have as much chance with Scott McDonald then we do with Steady!
Richard Offiong (Hamilton) - His pace and power would be ideal for league one and his wages are likely to be lower then some of the other rumours mentioned, however it is likely Hamilton will want to hold onto him for their rise to the SPL.
And those are the latest rumours so far. Send us your thoughts on who you would like to see at the Galpharm and whether you have heard any other tasty rumours that have slipped through my net.
