'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Roberts bid accepted

Huddersfield have had an offer accepted by Ipswich for winger Gary Roberts.

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton told the club's official website.

''We have had an offer from Huddersfield for Gary that we have accepted,'
'The player is now clear to speak to them and we will see what happens.'

Stan 'the man' Ternent told our official site
'We have agreed a fee, but that's as far as it's gone until I speak to his agent and the player which I hope to do this weekend, but it could be Monday before I get that chance with us being in Hartlepool this weekend.'

Clearly Stan is building what is surely to be a promotion winning team and most importantly getting us the fans excited!

Roll on the start of the season!

Next stop a 25+ goals a season striker...
80s terrier
not seen that at town shirt in a long time who was the last town player to score 25 goals or more in one season
stinger1974
"not seen that in a town shirt" its a shame i cant spell u nugget
stinger1974
Rob Edwards came to us with 29 goals i think,Duncan Shearer had scored 31 for Chelsea in the combination league when we got him... Dont remember the "u nugget" bloke though...Oh and didnt a certain William Marcus Paul Stewart score around the 25 mark for us !!!..???..Anyway its all irrelavent now,but a 25+ striker on the books now would surely see us promoted, our lot at the moment couldnt finish their dinner, some of them dont look like they could finish a packet of crisps..!!! Hopefully its just a case of fitness and a matter of settling down after the summer break...Does anyone see the resemblance between Gary Roberts ,and Gary"wingnut"Barnett(remember him!)..??? lol..lol...
80s terrier
i think jevons can get 20 goals if he gets the service, although we could do with a safer bet by paying a decent sum!
jimmyjames83
andy bishop from bury might be shrewed, and a realistic target..they guy from ipswich (lee) is prob a good bet though!??
jimmyjames83
Ill get my coat..!!!
80s terrier
whats that supposed to mean mate? do you not agree!?what is your point with that statement 80's terrier?
jimmyjames83
The statement "Ill get my coat" is borrowed from "Harry Enfield and chums" and has no bearing on your comments whatsoever 83...The term when taken in context is used to unreservedly emphasise acknowlegdement of a verbal blunder (in this case mine)....Where a given comment, when absorbed by the immediate audience does not return the anticipated favourable response,or alternatively is met with deafening silence...
80s terrier
For what its worth 83 im with you all the way on all the above comments youve made..Hadn't thought about the lad Bishop, but i take your point he would be a shrewd and realistic target..24 goals in all competitions last season if ive got it right..!!!..??
80s terrier
I see 80's terrier, I do recall the classic Fast Show sketch (sorry to be corrective) with Brummy and Birmingham City fan Mark Williams, and now understand the context in which you have used the term. ‘Ill get mi coat’ as you rightly state, all be it a probable ‘non entry’ in to the English dictionary! An acknowledgment of a verbal blunder, or any blunder for that matter where one finds him or herself in a embarrassed state. Which leads me to the point, Towns new signing of Gary Roberts, whom does bare a resemblance to a certain Mr. Barnett, of the Leeds Rd day’s! as you mention, today in his interview, seemed to make a point of making it clear he was too good for league one and that he basically expects promotion and to play every game! So Lets hope Mr. Roberts has the ‘skills to pay the bills’ so to speak, we should expect high level performances from this chap or he may well be asked to ‘Get his Coat’ by the short in patience Terrier faithful no doubt!
jimmyjames83
time will tell about roberts lets hope in future he does his talking with his boots lol
stinger1974
