Lee Clark, his assistant Derek Fazackerley and fitness coach Steve Black have today all signed 3 and a half year contracts at Town.
All three are set to be unveiled at a press conference on Friday morning at 10am, before starting work on Monday morning, meaning Gerry and Mitch will take charge of their final game away at Southend on Saturday.
Clark's first game in charge will be the home clash with newly promoted Hereford on Saturday 20th.
Clark will of course have the opportunity to dip into the transfer market with the window re-opening in January.
Names such as goalkeeper Steve Harper, Striker Jamie Cureton currently on loan at Barnsley from Norwich have already been banded around, Whats sure is that it is going to be an exciting January for all Town fans.
Clark is surely ambitious to be a success at Huddersfield, especially if he is to ever achieve his dream job of managing Newcastle United.
Glenn Roeder paid tribute to the departing Clark, telling the Huddersfield Examiner :-
"I always knew from day one when I first appointed Lee as reserve-team coach at Newcastle how ambitious he was to become a manager one day.
"So he goes with my best wishes and big thanks for the part he played last season in helping the club to secure its Championship status."
So all that remains is to welcome on board Lee, Derek and Steve and wish them all good luck, in what is sure to be an expectant Town faithful for the remainder of the season, and Hopefully we will all be where we want to be come the end of the season..... THE CHAMPIONSHIP!
