HTFC- Beckford Misses derby game
Leeds top scorer Jermaine Beckford has been handed a three game ban for elboxing Milwall 'keeper David Forde in the head
This ban starts immediately and so he will miss the trip to The Galpharm Stadium, unless Leeds and Beckford appeal the decision which at this stage seems unlikely
The Fa released a statement this morning which reads:-
'The FA have confirmed that Jermaine Beckford has been charged under FA rule E3 (violent conduct) for an incident on the field of play which falls within law 12 - not seen by the match officials but caught on video.'
'The FA have been advised by the match referee that Jermaine Beckford was cautioned for a pushing incident that occured prior to the incident involving the Millwall goalkeeper'
'The participant has been offered the penalty of a three match suspension'
'The participant has until 6pm on Thursday 12th February 2009 to admit or deny the charge'
'A regulatory commission will hear the charge on Friday 13th February 2009'

One rule for Premier League another for Football League.....would they have changed their mind for Man U/Chelsea/Liverpool...not a chance. It would be "the referee dealt with it at the time". Leeds this week ...Terriers next week.

No, no. the ref said the yellow was for a different foul. Therefore he can be charged as he hadnt already been disciplined. but as i said on forums, i'm guessing the ref found out he got it wrong and to save blushes, he made it up about it being a different foul.

well i am well buzzin ive just logged on to see if my suspition was right that he would get his yellow overturned. i mentioned the other day that i saw an elbow on the millwall goalie n that he should be banned. BUZZIN with that descition JERMAINE BECKFORD you dirty YID unlucky!!!! pal
