HTFC - Chairman banks 350 Million

Huddersfield Town chairman Dean Hoyle has sold his Card Factory retail firm for a reported 350 million pounds to London equity firm Charterhouse

The Card Factory businees, based in Wakefield, has around 480 stores in the UK, and Mr Hoyle will remain in the business as a non-executive director.

However Dean was quick to pour cold water on a spending spree now being imminent at the club, he spoke to HTAFC.com :-

No doubt expectation levels will go through the roof as people speculate as to the financial implications for Huddersfield Town.

"Any thoughts of a new stadium, big transfers or wages spending sprees should be quickly dispelled. Everyone needs to keep their feet very firmly on the ground.

"This deal does not significantly change the way our business will be operated at all. Whether the sale had happened or not, the level of my backing for the club is unaffected.

"We are building to make Huddersfield Town a sustainable, viable business - not one even more reliant on me than it already is - it would be a step backwards and too high a risk for everyone concerned."

So good deal for Mr.Hoyle, and should Town win promotion I'm sure there will already have been a budget allocated for new players.

nice one Deano!

I knew he was worth a lot, but not that much! He needs to limit the spending though so the club is making a profit not a loss.
