Danny Ward has signed on-loan for Huddersfield Town for the remainder of the season from Premier League Bolton Wanderers.
The 20 year-old is a naturally left-footed winger and has been brought in to cover the void left by the unfortunate Anthony Pilkington who suffered a broken fibula and dislocated ankle.
Lee Clark spoke to htafc.com:-
'The injury to Anthony (Pilkington) has left us with only one senior winger. I like my wide men and Danny brings with him a lot of experience from his time with Swindon last year.
'Aidan Chippendale impressed at Bristol Rovers on Saturday but I feel we need someone with more experience.
We have been monitoring Danny for a while now and have been very impressed with his performances for the Bolton Reserve side. There were a lot of clubs interested in Danny and I would like to thank Owen Coyle for letting us have him until the end of the season'
Ward, originally from Bradford, has been on the books at both Bradford City and Leeds United as a youngster before joining Bolton where he secured his first professional contract.
Ward had an impressive six loan-spell at fellow league one side Swindon Town last season which alerted a number of clubs with The Terriers having seen loan approaches turned down in August and again in the January Transfer window.
So we welcome Danny to Town and wish him luck during his time with The Terriers, during which Town he will take the vacant number 10 shirt.
