'If It's Football, It's Vital'

HTFC - Town players attract interest

Huddersfield Town have confirmed that the club received a number of enquiries about their players immediately following the play off final defeat to Peterborough.

Chief executive Nigel Clibbens told the club's official website:-

'Even before we had got back to Huddersfield we had started to receive calls from agents asking who we would be selling and how much we would want.

'We all know there is no sentiment in football, at times it can be a cut-throat and pretty brutal business so we obviously expected enquiries.

'Losing the final was a body blow but the timing even shocked me.'

Clibbens wouldn't reveal any names or name the clubs on the phone, however I'm sure every Town fan expected the calls to come.

Town are under no pressure to sell any of the players, however the problem is many of this Town squad are more than capable of playing at a higher level and decisions will now rest on their shoulders.

So will our key players stay or will they want to tread a new path in a higher division?

One crucial thing that may help us to keep hold of the players is the wages that Town pay and the length of contract that many of the top players are on.

We wait with baited breath.

Vital Huddersfield Town is now available on both facebook and twitter, so if you are that way inclined and more importantly understand all this new fangled dangled stuff, feel free to watch us, poke us or whatever else you are meant to do there!
