HTFC - Bid received for Pilkington?
ANTHONY Pilkington is the subject of the latest transfer speculation, with Premier League bound Norwich City reported to have bid for the services of Huddersfield Town's talented wingman.
Pilkington, 23, joined The Terriers from Stockport County in January 2009 on a three and a half year deal.
Pilks suffered a double leg break in a 2-1 over Rochdale at The Galpharm, an injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the season and sparked the 'Do it for Pilks' campaign as Town pressed for promotion from league one.
Had Pilkington not suffered the horrific injury some may wonder if Huddersfield may have been successful in their push to get out of the third tier of English football.
It is rumoured that Norwich are prepared to offer 1.75 million pounds rising to 2 Million dependant on clauses and the such like.
It is also reported that the Norwich bid for Pilkington comes after Leeds slapped a price tag of 8 million on Robert Snodgrass!!
Maybe we should do the same?

definitely our star player.. worth more than 2m.... 8m for snodgrass is laughable.. if thats so Pilks is easily worth the same

Trouble is (if it's true) what would you do? Doesn't matter how much you like the club / fans etc, if you're playing in league one and someone gives you the opportunity to play in the premier league and give you a wage rise especially when you thought you might not play again, it would be very hard to turn down

Win win situation imo.If he stays its because he wants to pull on the shirt again,and its business as usual.If he goes for circa the money stated we have the ability to replace him,like for like or better,and with a sizeable amount of cash to spare.As far as leeds and their pricing policy goes,every chairman in the country should be wise to it now.Take the £5m they got for a certain Fabian Delph, a supposed super star.Do us a favour.Has anybody heard of him since?Snodgrass,is 5 times the player,but £8m,come on! Their having a proper laugh.
