HTFC - Donal wins 'Ultimate Finish' award
DONAL McDermott's fantastic left foot finish in round one of this seasons JPT has seen him awarded with the competitions 'Ultimate Finish' award.
The Irishman, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, struck in the 39th minute against Northampton Town and that strike secured him hundreds of votes ranking his goal ahead of the other 9 contenders.
Donal spoke to the clubs official site about the goal:-
'As soon as I received the ball, I had no intention of passing it. There was a gap in Northampton's defence, so I thought I'd have a go.
'Fortunately, I managed to create a bit of space for myself and score. It goes without saying that I'm absolutely delighted about winning the Ultimate Finish Award and would like to thank everybody who voted for me.'
Town of course now have a nice local derby in the next round against Bradford City, sadly there will be no Peter Jackson however Mr empty chair will be in charge of the Bantams instead. That game is scheduled for Tuesday 4th October.
So congratulations to Donal, more of the same on Tuesday please!
