Town On The Telly Again!

Huddersfield Town have been selected for a third live TV game to be screened by Sky Sports.

The latest announcement sees the Terriers game at Wycombe screened on January 6th with a 7:45pm kick off

This adds to the appearances at home on Saturday Jan 21st at 5:20pm Vs Brentford and the top of the table clash with leaders Charlton live from the valley on Monday 28th November.

Town certainly seem to be in demand at the moment and personally speaking I think that this will be the most consecutive times that Town games have been screened by Sky - excluding any Play off games. (happy to be roved wrong by any statto's out there!)

With Town out of the FA Cup and now having a free weekend on December 3/4th it has certainly seen the Town fixture list amended in recent weeks.

Town have also rescheduled the home clash with Carlisle which was due to be played on New Years Eve to Friday 30th December (7:45pm)

The re-scheduling gives the Town players a bit extra rest time ahead of the Jan 2nd trip to face Notts County away.

All this means that after today's home game with County five of the next seven Saturday's are blank for The Terriers (Something we will have to get used to increasingly if we go up this season)

Lee Clark is happy with all of the changes and commented 'It`s not a worry, and we`re more than happy to have the national exposure that live television coverage brings.

"As manager, I`ve been fully consulted, and I`ve given my full backing to all the changes, and while the Carlisle game isn`t on television, the extra time we have before the match at Notts County will be very valuable.

"You do have to tweak some things in terms of preparation and recovery, but it`s all about planning ahead, and we always do that thoroughly.

"There are also positives to be taken, because in the cases of having longer spells between games, we have the chance to alter our training patterns and get some more intense work into the players without the worry of fatigue."

The manager went on to joke that '"It makes a change to have Carlisle at our place rather than to be going there!!

Something that does seem to have happened every year!

After the Christmas Period is over is when most fans, media and pundits start to take the table standings as being meaningful, If Town can continue their excellent form we could all be set for a Very happy Christmas and a Fantastic New Year!

Up The Town
