Skipper Suspended for Boxing Day

Huddersfield Town Captain Peter Clarke will be suspended for the Boxing Day clash with Chesterfield at The Galpharm stadium after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the 4-4 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Clarke will serve a one match suspension after reaching the 5 game booking threshold.

After 31 December 2011, any player reaching five yellow cards will not receive a suspension - they will instead be warned over their conduct. However, bans still apply for players reaching a cumulative total of 10 or 15 yellow cards.

So perhaps a little unlucky to have lost him as he was so close to the cut off point.

However big striker Alan Lee is available once more following the completion of his 3 game ban. A frightening prospect of him lining up with Jon Parkin!

Not much chance of that though with Jordan Rhodes in the mood for goals!!

Jamie McCombe is also available for selection after being recalled from his loan spell at Preston.

Damien Johnson & Alex Smithies are Town's only injured players who will be unavailable over the festive period.
