HUDDERSFIELD Town have organised another multiple fan charity event officially dubbed 'Walk For Pounds'
The idea first came about, or so I would like to think, via social media site Twitter. Where a lot of Town fans were banding around ideas for Charity events for the Keep It Up Campaign that helps raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance as well as support the clubs academy.
Commercial Director Sean Jarvis was a party to all of the ideas on Twitter and its great to see that it obviously had some impact with the announcement made yesterday on the clubs official site, htafc.com
Sean Jarvis was quoted as saying:-
The idea behind 'Walk for Pounds' was for the Club to hold a sponsored event that effectively everyone can take part in, and is a tough physical challenge but one which can be done in a day!
'I know there are lots of people who want to get involved with fundraising for KIU, but it's not feasible for them to do the bike ride, so this is a perfect opportunity for them.
'I'd urge fans to sign up to what is sure to be a brilliant day- with potentially hundreds of fans trekking over the moors to Bury for what will hopefully be a great game at the end of it!'
You can head over to htafc.com to download the official sponsorship form or register your interest via email to robyn.deegan@htafc.com
Good Luck to all those that decide to go Walk for Wonga - I've registered to take part I just hope I can make it all the way!!
NOTE:-
The walk will set off from Canalside early on Saturday 3 March morning, and continue up to Outlane, over the moor and through Rochdale in time for kick off at 3pm - a total of approximately 26 miles.
