LEE CLARK has become the bookies favourite to succeed Simon Grayson at Leeds United.
The Huddersfield Town boss refused to rule himself out of the vacant hot-seat at a press conference this morning.
He also didn't declare any interest ion the job stating that It's just speculation. Until I am told otherwise I am the manager of Huddersfield Town.
A similar scenario to when Clark was linked to the vacant Leicester job a few months back.
Whilst failing to distance himself from the speculation he hasn't committed himself either way - sitting on the fence one might say.
Perhaps he will come out in time - ala Leicester - and state he isn't leaving once he finds out how serious the Leeds job offer may or may not be.
Town fans on Twitter and other social media have been having their say - with many saying they wouln't be bothered either way.
Neil Warnock and even Simon Grayson have been mentioned as possible successors should Clark decide to make like a tree and leaf.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves though Town Fans!
I believe that Lee Clark is here to stay - and all of the above is him playing the media and in coming weeks he will laugh about it and say he never said he wanted the job and the media caused all of the frenzy.
For sure he is the only one who can end the frenzy with an 'I'm not interested' statement.
His odds tumbled from 10/1 to just 6/5 with bookmakers William Hill on Thursday.
Neil Warnock, who was the early favourite, is now 11/4 for the job whilst Barnsley boss Keith Hill has seen his odds shortened to 8/1.
Current caretaker manager Neil Redfearn is 8/1 whilst former crowd favourite Gordon Strachan is as short as 7/1 for the job.
Meanwhile, Gus Poyet and Paulo Di Canio have both ruled themselves out of the running.
Leeds have confirmed today that they have been inundated with approaches for the job but have yet to approach anyone.
For now lets enjoy seeing the hype - and hope that it doesn't cause a distraction from what is a massive game on Saturday at home to franchise MK Dons
