Huddersfield Fitness boost ahead of MK Dons

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN have been boosted this week by the return of Alex Smithies, who appeared on the bench last weekend.

The highly rated 'keeper is in contention for a start against the MK Dons after impressing in training and is now 100% fit according to gaffer Lee Clark.

Clark also confirmed that Alan Lee has recovered from the battering he endured at Tranmere and will also be available for selection.

Even better news is that the in-form Danny Ward is also looking likely to be fit! With Town low on numbers of wing-men - Donal McDermott was sold to Bournemouth & Gary Roberts is recovering from a hernia op.

Lee Clark spoke to htafc.com:-

'I put Alex on the bench last week and he will be in consideration for this Saturday. He played a behind closed doors game at Blackburn and did really well and it will just come down to whether we feel he needs another game before we put him in the starting line up. Alan Lee is fine and will be involved. We have got to be wary of Danny Ward and the injury that he has, but he does stand a chance ahead of Saturday.'

Great news on all fronts.

It is rumoured that Captain Peter Clarke is to have a double hernia op, however those reports remain unconfirmed by official sources.
