Eddie Newton - 'Huddersfield Interests Me'

Former West Brom assistant boss Eddie Newton has expressed his interest in the vacant manager's job at Huddersfield.

Newton has been out of work since leaving West Brom last January and is keen to get his foot in the managerial door.

Newton broke the news to Sky Sports, he said:-

'I would love to be a manager and I know I am ready to do it now,'

'I have had experiences at different levels and I would love to be a manager and really establish my own ideas.'

When quizzed about the vacant Huddersfield Hot seat, Newton went on to add:-

'Well it's a great club to go to. It's got a great infrastructure at that club, a very strong identity and they are very ambitious as a club as well so for any manager it's a very good club to take over.

'Me and my agent are looking into all various options and we will see what comes of it.'

He may not be the man to deliver instant promotion, but could be a more long term project, however with the club needing promotion for footballing and financial reasons, Newton may find himself way down in the pecking order for the job.
