HTAFC:- NEW DEALS FOR FIVE

SIMON GRAYSON has offered new deals to five players currently at the club following promotion at Wembley.

Experienced keeper Ian Bennett has been offered a new one year deal which will see him turn 41 during his extended stay.

Versatile defender Tom Clarke has also been offered new terms after proving his fitness following several injury setbacks and impressing Grayson during his short spell as manager.

Veteran Irishman Alan Lee has also been offered a new deal to remain with The Terriers, many had expected and some hoped that he would be on the released list.

Grayson is also planning on opening talks with Damien Johnson, who is now a free agent after being released by Plymouth Argyle.

Young 'keeper Lloyd Allinson is the final one to have been offered new terms.

Town have also retained the playing registration of Nick Colgan as backup measure, although his new role will be as the club's full-time Academy Goalkeeping Coach.

Simon Grayson spoke to htafc.com:-

"We've got the experience of the goalkeepers, who have been great to work with alongside Alex Smithies, as well as the potential of Lloyd.

"Damien showed his experience and quality when he came back into the team towards the end of the season; Alan has great ability whereas Tom Clarke is an unsung hero and deserves his opportunity.

"A lot of players have left and the ones we will look to bring in will be good enough for the Championship."
