Grayson 'The net is closing'

SIMON GRAYSON hopes its just a matter of time before announcing his first full-time signings for Huddersfield Town.

The Galpharm chief is still awaiting contract decisions from Alan Lee, Tom Clarke & Ian Bennett, but expected that a new face wouldn't be too far away.

Republic of Ireland pair Keith Andrews and Paul Green remain linked with a move to the club along with other names such as Simon Gillett and Adam Clayton.

Grayson wouldn't confirm if any of these players were ones that he had been in talks with but he did state to local paper The Examiner:-

'I`ve drawn up a list which is realistic within our budget. We`re working hard to bring in those concerned and I have already had face-to-face talks with two players and a number of agents.

"We`re still at that stage where the market is relatively slow, but I`d like to get as many of the deals done as soon as I can in order to have the bulk of the squad together for pre-season."

Town fans all remain eager waiting the news of these first signings in the Grayson era and most importantly in the Championship.!

Calm down,be patient,we arent exactly going to struggle if we go into the championship if we go with what weve already got.Simon Grayson will do us proud I'm sure.

Starting to get a bit concerned about the players weve been linked with in the press. The 2 Irish midfielders have spent far too much time injured for my likeing, and the 2 strikers mentioned dont seem to score any goals. So thats 2 midfield players that cant play, and 2 strikers that cant strike. Please tell me theres no truth in these rumours.

Somebody please tell me we haven't signed Scannell...I can only think that Graysons idea is for him to supply goal scoring oportunities for Jordan,,, as this joker,,,this so called "striker",,,cant score goals.I think he'd have trouble striking a match looking at his previous record...!!! We are on a hiding to nothing if Grayson thinks he can do anything in this league with just one striker(ie:Jordan Rhodes). We need a strike partner for Jordan if we are going to achieve anything other than relegation this season...One that can score goals and take some of the attention from defenders off Jordan and allow him the freedom to get into possitions to score the goals we all know he has in him at this level...Nothing at all wrong with Lee Novak for that role imo...Last years faillings between Novak and Rhodes, just need a bit of basic coaching to sort out...Both of them firing on all cylinders up front would be a handfull for any championship side...If our coaching staff havent the ability to get them both playing together up front then they should be shown the same door as the phyisio and his crew...My blood is boilling...Get your act together Grayson we have had more than our fill of managers(ie;bruce, clark) squandering the clubs precious money and stifelling our progress up the leagues...We should have known when he brought arismendi to the club that the writting was on the wall...Now would be a good time to find a manager with the ability to take us forward from here before the season kicks off and points are at stake...My confidence in Grayson has just taken a battering...(Good oportunity for you to take a cheap shot if you want tiny terrier...!!!)

It apears the lads a winger...! What a relief, that makes a world of difference...I can put the beta blockers away now...The thought of a striker who cant score goals nearly put my lights out...
