Rhodes earns draw against Killie

Pre-season result:- Kilmarnock 1-1 Huddersfield Town

Jordan Rhodes was back among the goals as he scored the equaliser against Kilmarnock to earn Town a draw in Scotland.

Jack Hunt was forced to miss the game after suffering with a tight hamstring, and the player revealed on twitter that it wasn't worth risking aggravating the injury; however Joel Lynch was named among the substitutes after recovering from his knock.

The Terriers wore the new away kit of Navy Blue for the first time, a kit that has divided opinion among supporters.

First Half Town team - (4-3-3):

Alex Smithies; Paul Dixon, Peter Clarke (c), Murray Wallace, Calum Woods; Adam Clayton, Oscar Gobern, Oliver Norwood; Sean Sc annell, Jordan Rhodes, Lee Novak.

The game was a slow starter but Town started to string passes together with a midfield trio of Gobern, Norwood & Clayton linking well together and Scannell going close on occasion.

It was however Kilmarnock who opened the scoring through Lee Johnson on 20 minutes, who scored a neat volley past the helpless Alex Smithies.

Kilmarnock buoyed by the opening goal then pressed Town and their failure to score a second was punished just before half time when Paul Dixon found the head of Jordan Rhodes with a beautiful cross, and the rest is standard! Jordan netting from around 10 yards out to open his pre-season account on 38 minutes.

Second Half Town Team - (4-3-3)

Ian Bennett; Liam Ridehalgh, Antony Kay, Murray Wallace (Joel Lynch, 67), Tom Clarke; Anton Robinson, Chris Atkinson, Oliver Norwood (Jimmy Spencer, 67); Danny Ward, Alan Lee, Kallum Higginbotham

Huddersfield made a whopping 9 changes at the break but maintained a good rhythm and created opportunities but were unable to grab a winning goal.

Joel Lynch also got a run out coming on for Murray Wallace on 67 minutes and he was joined by Jimmy Spencer, who could well play a role this season for the Terriers.

Town continued to press the game and Antony kay went the closest to scoring but ultimately neither side could find that second goal and so the match ended one a piece.

FULL TIME - Kilmarnock 1 (Lee Johnson, 20) 1 Huddersfield Town (Jordan Rhodes, 38)
