Paul Crichton is new Goalkeeper Coach

Paul Crichton has become Huddersfield Town`s first new goalkeeping coach in six years, taking over from Birmingham bound John Vaughan.

The 43-year-old Pontefract born Yorkshireman was in the Sheffield United dug-out at Wembley where Town triumphed on penalties (let's hope he didn't coach Simonsen on taking one!)

Crichton's contract expired following that game after Sheffield United were unable to offer any new terms and so joins Town as a free agent after taking in previous spells as Goalkeeper coach at Gillingham, Cambridge, Kings Lynn, Brighton, Norwich and of course Sheffield United.

Simon Grayson was delighted to have secured his new coach so soon after the departure of John Vaughan, and after playing with Crichton at Aston Villa explained it was an easy decsion to make when you know somene personally.

Crichton's playing days saw him take in a whole host of club's including:- Nottingham Forest, Peterborough, Doncaster, Grimsby, West Brom, Burnley, Norwich, York, Leigh, Accrington, Gillingham and Cambridge and various loan spells with Notts County, Darlington, Swindon, Rotherham, Torquay and Aston Villa.

So a vastly experienced and well traveled new member of the coaching team, welcome aboard Paul
