Blackburn Kean on Rhodes

Steve Kean has made no friends after publicly announcing that a significant bid had been made for Huddersfield Star Striker Jordan Rhodes to the waiting media.

It has turned out that that offer was pretty derisory with a reported £2million fee muted and a potential £2million in add on clauses; all this with no sell on clause and to a divisional rival.

It was never going to happen! Nigel Clibbens made a statement about the bid and I think its safe to say that Rhodes is going nowhere soon unless a crazy offer comes in and with the start of the season drawing ever nearer it looks as though Town have retained their man.

As a fellow Vital article writer, i would suggest doing your research before publishing unverified untrue info like this. The offer was closer to £6 million then £2 million. The Examiner newspaper has been wrong mutiple times in the last few weeks and is the source of this untrue.

What part of "Jordan Rhodes is not for sale" do you find hard to understand

I think he'll struggle in the Championship anyway. He's very easy to mark out of the game. that said thats just my opinion and i'm glad that you've managed to keep hold of him.

Tombo1984 - It was no where near 6 million - so i would go check your sources. The examiner was actually pretty close on this info, as I was given the same info from my contacts.... PS IF (and thats a big if!) We sell we wont sell to a Championship side - how is that a move up for the young man.. Premiership or staying and with season so close doubt very much we would let him go anywhere now unless the money was crazy
Terrier24
Radon - I guess its his time to shine - if Town got 6-8 million for him then its good business all round - any less then its much better we gamble and see just how he does.

Totally agree t24. However it would be a shame to lose him to a championship club even for a decent amount. It would be better to keep hold of him for 1 season as the rewards would be far greater. if he bags 1/2 as many as last season then that would put you on the verge of a play off spot at least!

Sorry but Huddersfield should take the money and attempt to re-build the team, if the club is genuinely trying to get to the premier league the best thing to be doing this season is consolidate and rebuild. What happens if JR trips over the neighbours cat on his way home tonight and does a knee ligament injury, you guys will be in the doo-doo.

We played better against BarcaB,and looked far more likely to score when he went off...Far too easy to defend against, because center halves know exactly where the ball is going every time we attack, but thats the managers fault not his...To get the best out of him we need to mix it up a bit up front, and give a fair share of the ball to his strike partner...4-5-1 against BarcaB was naieve to be polite...So long as he doesnt go to a championship side, and we get top money for him,he can go tomorrow for me...We have Lee Novak,Alan Lee,and the lad Spencer, plus an army of quality midfield players who all look able to chip in with goals this season given a licence to shoot...Bring on Cardiff...
