Official: Antony Kay joins Dons

MK DONS have taken Antony Kay on a free transfer from Huddersfield Town.

The former Barnsley academy trainee, who can play centre back and centre midfield, had one year remaining on his Terriers contract.

It was clear the 29-year-old didn't feature in the Terriers plans and so manager Simon Grayson has allowed Kay to depart on a free transfer.

MK Dons have handed Kay a two year deal.

Kay spoke of his move to the mkdons official site:-

"This is a great club with some great players and they have made some quality signings.

"They`ve been in the play-offs nearly every year I can remember, so hopefully we can go one step further this time and get promoted. "I think it helps having a bit of experience and knowledge of how to get promoted, so hopefully I can bring that to the club and the players and help us get up.

"Any player that has ever played against MK Dons knows how well they pass it and the way they play, and all footballers want to play that way. It`s one of the reasons why I`ve come here and I can`t wait to get started."

Kay hasn't been known for his footballing prowess skills whilst with Town so it will be interesting to see how he fares.

Kay joined Town in 2009 from Tranmere, who had also been linked with a move for their former captain and he made 119 Town appearances scoring 11 times.

Kay's final game for Huddersfield was in early April against Bournemouth.

We wish Antony all the best with his new team, and thanks for your time here at Huddersfield.
