Gerrard 'Appeal' & now available for Boxing Day

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN have today confirmed that they will be appealing the referee's decision to dismiss Anthony Gerrard in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

The defender was dismissed in the 81st minute, where referee Scott branded a straight red card for what he deemed serious foul play, just outside the edge of the Town penalty area.

The red card carries with it a three game suspension, but with the appeal now in place the FA will convene a panel to review the decision on Thursday, therefore Gerrard is available for the Boxing Day Clash with Blackpool.

Innocent until proven guilty!

If this red card doesn't get overturned, then you will never see one rescinded ever, Gerrard clearly won the ball and his challenge was certainly not a dangerous won, We wait on the FA's decision.

Fellow center back Joel Lynch, will serve a one match suspension, missing the Blackpool match, for collecting his 5th booking of the season at Palace.

It leaves the door open for skipper Peter Clarke to regain his place or for Hot Prospect Murray Wallace to claim his chance.
