Leeds Axe McDermott Ahead Of Yorkshire Derby

Leeds Axe McDermott Ahead Of Yorkshire Derby

Leeds United have sacked their manager Brian McDermott!!

The shocking news broke last night just hours before the Transfer Window slammed shut and with the 'Yorkshire Derby' looming on the horizon, Leeds United appear to be a club in chaos.

The 52-year-old former Reading managers departure came just after star striker Ross McCormack had issued a statement signalling his intent to stay put under McDermott, only for the manager to then be sacked moments later

Leeds are in the midst of a takeover, which is understood will be completed by Italian Massimo Cellino, who is said not to favour McDermott as the clubs manager although GFH capital (Leeds current owners) have not been absolved of full blame.

Cellino, who owns Serie A side Cagliari, is preparing to take a controlling 70-75% share in Leeds and is said to be set to appoint Gianluca Festa as the clubs new manager.

Despite the rivalry with our neighbours, I can offer some sympathy as no football club should have to go through the turmoil or mess that is currently on very public display at Leeds United.

Many fans think this could make the game easier today, whilst an equal number think its nailed on that Town will now lose the Derby!

One thing for sure is that both sets of players & supporters will be giving it their all, Yorkshire Pride is at stake after all!!
