Stead Chickens Out; Striker City Bound

Stead Chickens Out; Striker City Bound

Jon Stead has joined Bradford City on-loan for the remainder of the season.

The 30-year-old has shown signs that he can't cut it at Championship level and has featured just 14 times for The Terriers after arriving back at his hometown club on a free transfer from Bristol City last summer.

Stead has already had one, relatively unsuccessful loan spell away this season with League One side Oldham Athletic where he failed to score.

Stead is expected to receive the necessary clearance from the FA to make a potential debut for the Bantams at Leyton Orient on Saturday; where Stead could well come up against another former Terrier in Nathan Clarke!
