Huddersfield Tracking Danish Defender

Huddersfield Tracking Danish Defender

Having made 7 summer signings already you'd think Huddersfield Town maybe on a slow down on the transfer front but another day leads to rumours of another player joining the on going #WagnerRevolution at the John Smiths Stadium.

The latest player to be linked is Danish defender Mathias Jorgensen, whose nickname is Zanka, named after the bloke who kissed a lucky egg in cool runnings!

He certainly sounds like he could be Hefele 2.0 with his crazy antics.

A little bit of digging shows that Jorgensen is in his final year of his contract at FC Copenhagen, where he has had two spells in his career with a spell at PSV Eindhoven sandwiched in-between.

Jorgensen was linked with a move to Hull City in the January transfer window but that move never materialised and the powerful centre-half has Champions League experience after facing Leicester City in last seasons group stages.

Huddersfield have already signed Steve Mouine, Aaron Mooy, Tom Ince, Laurent Depoitre, Danny Williams as well as the loan signings of keeper Jonas Lossl and the return of Kasey Palmer from Chelsea.

The Terriers are also linked with a move for Chelsea's Izzy Brown and Scott Malone of Fulham.

As we all know David Wagner likes to move fast and so if there is any truth in Jorgensen, Malone and Brown's return to Huddersfield we can expect it to all happen fairly quickly.

The squad returned to Canalside today for their first day of pre-season training.
