Tareiq Holmes-Dennis Joins Portsmouth on Loan

Tareiq Holmes-Dennis Joins Portsmouth on Loan

Huddersfield Town's back-up left back has joined newly promoted Portsmouth as they prepare for life in League One next season.

The 21 year-old who joined Huddersfield from Charlton last summer, and replaced Jason Davidson as the clubs back up left-back has signed a loan deal that runs until 31 May 2018.

THD as he likes to be known made 11 starts and four substitute appearances in Huddersfields promotion winning season.

Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett, was naturally pleased to land a left-back of the calibre of THD and he spoke to the Portsmouth Official Site

"I saw him in the Championship last season and he`s a modern-day full-back.

"He`s naturally left-footed and very athletic with good pace. He can get up and down the line.

"We`re really pleased that he`s come to this club and I`m looking forward to working with him.

"He`s eager for a chance and is quite close with a few of players, so I believe he`s ready for the opportunity."

Tareiq's departure has lead to increased speculation that Huddersfield are close to sealing the capture of Fulhams Scott Malone with a rumored announcement expected in the next 24 hours!
