Transfer: Scott Malone Joins From Fulham

Transfer: Scott Malone Joins From Fulham

Fulham fans look away now, Scott Malone has signed a three year deal with Huddersfield Town, with the club having the option of a fourth year.

Huddersfield announced the new signing, the 8th in 5 days via the clubs Twitter account above and on the clubs Official Site

Malone of course only joined Fulham last summer as he was involved in a player exchange with Jazz Richards going the other way and joining Cardiff City. The transfer fee is undisclosed at the reported request of Fulham, but the fee is believed to be in the region of 3-4 million pounds.

Head Coach David Wagner commented on the Official Site about the transfer:-

"I`m excited to welcome Scott to Huddersfield Town. Our fans will have seen in our games against Fulham last season what a good player he is and I know his abilities will suit our style of play very well.

"Scott is a good physical presence and is a very capable defender, plus he adds a lot going forward. He shows good football intelligence to time his forward runs and can setup goals for teammates and scoring them himself.

"We already have a very good left back in Chris Löwe and a real young talent in Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, but as we enter our first Premier League season it is so important to have competition and the ability to rotate our side, as we did so successfully last season."

Malone of course landed himself a place in the EFL and PFA's Championship teams of the year, which shows how well his season at Fulahm was regarded by his peers.

The left-back will provide solid competition for Chris Lowe and at just 26years old Town look to have tied down a quality player whose about entering his prime.

Malone you may remember scored for Fulham at the John Smiths Stadium this season, a feat that we would gladly see occur regularly this coming season.

Welcome aboard Scott !
