View From The Opposition: West Ham

We spoke to West Ham fan Charlie Walsh ahead of Monday nights game, which is live on Sky Sports.

You can check out what he had to say and if you agree or disagree with him get involved on twitter directly @KingdomofWHAM

1) What has gone wrong at West Ham, how do you explain the bad start to the season?

It's a continuation of last season, which was downright terrible. We're a team devoid of any form, confidence and ideas. Our 3-2 loss to Southampton showed signs of the fighting spirit we had during Bilic's 1st season... then we got demolished by a Newcastle side who had yet to score a single goal.

We've signed some decent players, addressing deficiencies, but we've sold more than we bought and it's left our squad too shallow. We can't defend to save our lives and we're struggling to create any real chances of note.

Basically, we can't do anything right.

2) Is Slaven Bilic still the man or has he lost the fans support?

It's becoming increasingly difficult to say Bilic is the right man to take us forward. His departure certainly now feels like a matter of when, rather than if. The Newcastle game felt like the end and any last remanent of support he did have disappeared. That is until our Chairman David Sullivan stepped in.

A frankly stupid and needless article on our official site penned by Sullivan addressed our lack of incomings and pointed the finger in Bilic's direction. He threw Slaven under an oncoming bus in an attempt to save face.

It backfired and Bilic's popularity is higher than it has been in months. Most still believe he isn't the right man for the job, they just now hate our owners a lot more.

3) What do you make of your owners and their actions this window?

Their naivety in the market has shown again and it's damaged our squad. They somehow turned a very good window into a poor one. Then there's everything else.

Sullivan has very publicly attempted to divert all the blame from himself and place it on the shoulders of Bilic, he's started a media war with the higher ups of Sporting CP after failing to sign their player and has continuously lied to us about countless topics.

I don't believe we'll ever truly progress until they learn their lessons and significantly change how we are run as a club. I also don't believe that'll ever happen.

4) What are West Hams Strengths and how do you see those playing out against Huddersfield?

Our 3 best players are Hernandez, Antoino and Lanzini. Although the first two are available, Lanzini got injured on international duty and the void created when he isn't in the team is massive. As the link between our midfield and forward line, without him we struggle to transition from defense to attack. His absence means we won't be creating any intricate passing moves any time soon.

Antonio isn't a technical player, he creates chances through sheer strength and power of will. He will plow through defenders like they're nothing. Add to this Hernandez, a predatory goal poacher up there with the best of them, and we have the pieces to succeed. Getting the ball to those players and letting them do their thing is our problem. Hopefully we can find those passing lanes but without Lanzini I do doubt we can.

5) What is your predicted West Ham 11 for the game on Monday?

Hart
Zabaleta Reid Collins Cresswell
Noble Obiang Kouyate
Antonio Hernandez Ayew

6) And Finally what score are you predicting?

I'm not very optimistic, your play style is perfect to destroy us. If you pressure out defense they tend to crumble in record time. We are guaranteed to concede no matter what.

In a dream world we grab a 2-1 win and look like an actual football team. In reality, I can see a 0-2 Huddersfield win and we look like 11 blokes who have never met before.
