Instant Reactions - Bolton v Huddersfield (6/1/18)

Following today's FA Cup clash between Bolton Wanderers and Huddersfield Town, here are the instant reactions from both managers.

Bolton Wanderers hosted Huddersfield Town at the Macron Stadium for a 3pm kick off on Saturday January 6, with the visitors taking a two one victory.

Huddersfield opened the scoring in the 51st minute through Rajiv van La Parra and Danny Williams saw a 30 yard effort deflect in less than a minute later to create a two goal advantage. Derik Osede gave Bolton some hope in the 64th minute but the Premier League side held on to book their place in the fourth round.

Howard, Little (Hall 85), Beevers, Derik, Wheater, Robinson, Ameobi (Noone 76), Vela (King 85), Morais, Le Fondre, Wilbraham.

A Taylor, Alnwick, Darby, Earing.

Coleman, Smith, Kongolo, Hefele (Whitehead 85), Malone, Lolley (Billing 76), Hogg, Williams, Sabiri, Depoitre, Quaner (van La Parra 39).

Mounie, Green, Hadergjonaj, O'Brien.

Speaking to the BBC's cameras a short time after match day referee Roger East blew the final whistle, Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson explained.

'I thought we deserved more. At half time, we came in having had the best chance to open the scoring and in the second half, apart from two minutes when they've scored both their goals, I thought we acquitted ourselves very well. With the changes we've had to make and the disruption we've had this week with the loan players and injuries to key players, I thought the lads who came in did really well. We can hopefully get the loan players we've been missing today back with us which will be key, look at the injuries we've got and make sure that we've got a good number of players to choose from next weekend.'

Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner in his comparative interview explained.

'I love what I've seen today. This group hasn't played together, and we've had players who have had less training sessions. Hefele was only in training for a little bit more than a week after he was out more or less the last six months. Terence Kongolo who made his debut and only trained two or three times. This was a very solid, focused and concentrated performance. This looked professional today and everyone knows how difficult it can be in the cup if you're not on it; but the players were on it and I really liked what I've seen.'
