After Tuesday nights victory over struggling Rotherham at Millmoor, which saw ten man Town deservedly overcome their opposition on their home turf. With a fighting performance of fitness and positivity. This after already having to re-jig team plans and tactics due to Andy Booth's late withdrawal from the match squad, one could be forgiven for having some optimism for the remainder of the season.
However most fans did go into the match with Brentford last Saturday with much the same feeling, after the brilliant display at Bristol City the previous week, only to see it yet again crushed.
So we at Vital are not getting to carried away before the visit of Crewe on Saturday
Why is this, and what causes this inconsistency in Huddersfields displays.
Good and bad performances have been witnessed both home and away with no apparent cause other than, it just is that sort of day for the team.
League 1 is very tight and both play offs or relegation could conceivably still be the end result.
We at vital feel that if Peter Jackson could inject a little more consistency into the sides displays (not more poor ones we hasten to add), then the side really could be going places like the Championship rather than League 2 were they to deteriate much further.
How to do this, is surely what Mr Jackson gets paid for. We feel perhaps the injection of a little more experience to assist the youngsters making their mark in the first team could be one of the answers.
Another second possible cause is the lack of stength in depth of the current squad, which as we know sees one, or two injuries meaning a re thinking of tactics, formations, game plans etc, which must be unsettling for the team and of tremendous benefit to our opposition.
