Murphy-Clean Slate for Tosh & Hudson

As we at Vital predicted in our article yesterday entitled 'Huddersfield players its not over'
Out of favour Martin McIntosh and Mark Hudson will come into caretaker manager Gerry Murphy's thinking for Town's big derby with Bradford at the Galpharm on Saturday.

'It's a clean slate for them and all the squad. That's only right and proper,' said Murphy.

'I know they had their problems with Peter, but I'm not sure of the exact ins and outs, and it would be unfair to carry things on.

'They are employees of this club and they are fit, so they will be considered for selection like any other member of the squad.'

Skipper Jon Worthington is in contention for a start after coming through a 45-minute Reserve run-out with no reaction to his groin operation.

Worthington's fellow midfielder Hudson and centre-back McIntosh also played in the 2-1 home win over Stoke yesterday (McIntosh and Worthington were Town's scorers) and Murphy was pleased with their performances.

The pair are both out of contract at the end of this season and were transfer-listed by Jackson.

He said in the press conference after Saturday's 5-1 loss at Nottingham Forest that their Town careers were at an end.

That has changed with the departure of Jackson on Tuesday and the elevation of Academy manager Murphy in a temporary capacity.

Murphy will make his first team selection after close consultation with John Dungworth and Martyn Booty, assistant manager and chief coach respectively under Jackson.

Midfielder Gary Taylor-Fletcher returns for the big derby after a one-man suspension.

But striker Andy Booth has very little chance of playing because his recovery from a calf injury has not been as rapid as hoped.

And midfielder Chris Brandon and defender Aaron Hardy are concerns because of ankle problems picked up at Forest.

Worthington, however, has every chance of turning out in the noon showdown
