Huddersfield - It's Ritchie !

Widespread reports are indicating that as we probably all suspected, Andie Ritchie has agreed to become the new Huddersfield Town manager and may take over at the club this week.

Town chairman Ken Davy has moved quickly to appoint Ritchie in the wake of Phil Parkinson's 11th-hour decision to snub the club and stay at Charlton instead.

Apparently, Ritchie was contacted in Dubai - where he has been playing in a football tournament - and offered the job, which he accepted.

He returned last night and will be confirmed as Peter Jackson's successor within the next 48 hours.

The former Manchester United and Leeds striker was sacked as Barnsley boss in November, despite winning them promotion to the Championship last May, through the play off's, in which as we all know Barnsley defeated Town in the semi's, a defeat that now has added irony given the likely managerial succession.

Let's wait and see if another press conference is called, and if all the seats are occupied.

Hope he is as good as Gerry Murphy.

i was hoping Murphy would be caretaker for a while, and the club would re interview, but, let,s ee what Mr Ritchie can do.
Towntalk
Intetresting to see if he is at the game, today, think everyone should do a bit of face spotting in the crowd.
VanMan
Trying to spot Ritchie is a good idea, that should confirm it.
Tonytime
Ritchie was at the game, part of it anyway !
