Mark Hudson is eager to be part of Ritchie's push for promotion to the Championship next season.
His contract runs out in June.
'I want to stay at this club and will start talks with the new boss soon.
'This is a huge club and hopefully I'm in the plans of the new manager, having played the last two games for him, so hopefully he's liked what he's seen and we can strike a deal.
'The fans are unbelievable here as well. Last season we were so disappointed not to go up automatically and this season we've underachieved as individuals and as a team, but the gaffer has come in and told us he wants us to play football, get it down and pass it about and that's when I think we're at our best.
'He wants us to show no fear, just go out and play our football. That suits us and I want to be a part of that.'
'The second half was the best we've played for a long time and it showed with the goals we scored.'
'It was a great result.
We really needed that on the back of two defeats and I thought all the lads played really well today'
'It was a sloppy start until we got used to playing the diamond in midfield but in the second half we closed them down really well and there was only one team going to win it.'
Vital view - What do you think, do you want him to get a new contract.
He has certainly improved his game since Peter Jackson departed.
