As the rumours surrounding who the next Bradford City manager will be, swirl around the papers and media.
With current Sheffield Utd assistant Stuart McCall and our x manager Peter Jackson as favourites, after Jackson was invited, and was subsequently seen by eagle eyed fans watching their recent home game against Orient, claim and denial, sightings and explanations abound.
Then just when you think it will be a Peter Jackson free week or two, this comes along.
Former Huddersfield Town manager Peter Jackson is an overwhelming fans' favourite to take the manager's job at Chester.
The League II club have parted company with Mark Wright and fans at the Deva Stadium want Jacko in charge for 2007-08.
Jackson, who left Town by mutual consent in March, played more than 100 games for Chester after finishing his Leeds Road contract as a player in 1994.
In a poll of fans, 81% voted for Jackson to return to the club, with 12% favouring former Wrexham boss Denis Smith, who still lives in the area.
Others mentioned in connection with the post include Ian Atkins and Stan Ternent.
Jackson was given a warm reception when he took Town to Chester for a pre-season friendly last summer (it finished goalless).
This is a little surprising as it did appear that Jacko was waiting to see if Bradford City could avoid the drop, before confirming whether he wanted that job or not. Of course Chester are also in FL2.
However Peter Jackson has said that he wants to get back into management ASAP, but would Chester with low average attendances and no real pedigree in terms of tradition and success be a tempting enough offer, we doubt it at Vital.
