'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Andy Ritchie - exactly right !

Andy Ritchie feels he has got exactly the type of player Town needs with pace and ability and believes that Cadamarteri will discover his best form at Town.

'I'm over the moon to be honest and I think it's a real coup,' said the Town boss. 'We've been chasing him for a while and it's great to finally get it sorted. He's had other offers from other clubs, namely Millwall and Doncaster Rovers, but he wanted to come here. I wanted to sign him when I was at Barnsley and he's someone I've been interested in for a while.

'He's got plenty of pace and can play in one of three positions. He's comfortable on either wing, but I bought him primarily as a striker. He can get in behind defences with his pace, but he can hold the ball up as well. I think he's exactly what we need.

'He was a revelation when he first broke onto the scene and I'm sure he'll recapture that form here. He's not had a solid base recently and was playing at Leicester and then on loan at Doncaster. He's a great lad, lives locally and I think he will come here and take off.

'He was away at a training camp in Holland last weekend, which is something he does of his own back every season and that's a sign of dedication and maturity.'

Ritchie still has other irons in the fire and went on to say: 'The Ian Moore situation is still not dead and I will be revisiting that when he gets back from his holiday. Besides that, I have been talking to other players and we may have another signing next week.

'It is early days but I did want to get the striker position filled as quickly as possible. We need pace up front and we can work backwards from there and look for pace in other areas now.'
