'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Taylor-Fletcher SOLD

Its true Huddersfield is becoming a feeder club for Blackpool

Gary Taylor-Fletcher's two years at Huddersfield Town has come to an end as he has signed for newly-promoted Championship side Blackpool for an undisclosed fee.

This hot on the heels of former Town 'keeper Paul Rachubka moving to Bloomfield Road, and Chris Brandon being on loan with the Seasiders.

GTF completed his medical on Monday afternoon before signing for Simon Grayson's side

Town had apparently already rejected two previous offers from Blackpool.

Town boss Andy Ritchie commented:

'Blackpool made two previous offers which we turned down because we did not want to lose him, but they forced the issue and Gary was keen to play in the Championship. In the end, it was a force that we couldn't refuse. It was one of those driven things that's hard to stop and I can understand Gary wanting to play at a higher level and as much as I wanted him to stay here I did not want to stop him playing higher up - a similar thing to Brandon.

'We had to make sure the deal was really good for us, which it was in the end, but we are sorry to see him go and hopefully he will have a good run in the Championship.

'We are ready for our challenge and hopefully we will be adding another face to the squad in the not too distant future.'

Taylor-Fletcher told htafc.com

'It was a really tough decision for me.', said the 26-year old. 'Andy (Ritchie) told me about the interest that Blackpool had shown in me and I took a while to weigh up my options; Town have brought in a few players who can play in my positions and when I went to speak to Simon Grayson he told me I would be a first-team player.

'I've never played in the Championship before and it's something I want to do in my career. Going to Blackpool gives me that opportunity, although I would have loved it if I could be there with Town.'

What do you think to this move ?

Are the terriers becoming a feeder club for Blackpool ?

Why an undisclosed fee ?

Will we be able to replace him with similar quality or better ?

Let us have your views, frankly we are very disappointed in this latest news.

terrible bit of business.
Big Cheese
I can understand the playes wanting to play at a higher level, but it does suggest that they don't think Town will go up this season.
Terriers
No club ever got anywhere by selling their best players, he is under contract to us, and Ritchie did not have to let him go.
Hudders
somebody needs to tell me how this has improved our chances trhis season
Towntalk
Undisclosed fee, Why would that be exactly.
Eddie01
Towntalk, its not improved our chances this season, Ritchie is proving to be Grayson's puppet.
VanMan
Fact of life, its funny but the lads going are not from the academy, Rabs, Brandon possibly, GTF, Abbott last season, etc all bought and then sold on, not brought up through the juniors etc, no real affinity for the club.
Chris is Here
Just when you think things are going ok, you get this news, Ritchie had better bring in someone of similar ability.
Galpharm
This is all down to us not going up, or even getting close, dont blame Ritchie but Jacko.
