'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No corruption here, thankyou !

Police have raided three football clubs as part of an investigation into alleged corruption in football.

As you would expect Huddersfield Town is not one of them, they are Newcastle, Rangers and Portsmouth.

No surprises their then, certainly not for the English clubs at any rate.

Search warrants were served in the early hours of Monday morning although City of London Police, who are heading the investigation, did not disclose the identities of the clubs at that time.

Northumbria police later confirmed that Newcastle were one of the clubs subject to the inquiry. Rangers and Portsmouth then both revealed they also had received the morning call and that they had cooperated fully.

The raids were not carried out in connection with Lord Stevens' ongoing investigation into transfer irregularities.

A Police spokeswoman said: 'We can confirm that search warrants were served at three football clubs and the homes of two individuals in connection with corruption in football and its impact on owners and shareholders.

I expect Bolton Wanderers fans are heaving a sigh of relief, that their clubs name is no longer being tarnished.

Things just seem to keep happening like this to clubs associated with Sam Allardyce, don't they.

Lets be glad as Huddersfield Town fans that our club is not involved in the shady world of corruption in football, that is ruining our national game.

Pathetic isn't it ? Relegation for these 3 or points deduction if allegations true ? Corruption rules. Ask West Ham !! Absolutely nothing that will meaningfully hurt these clubs will happen. FA ensured that by setting a presidence for The Hammers !!!

It is a sign of how desperate some clubs are for success, that they will cheat, and use illegal means to gain an advantage,"allegedly" you can also bet that if individuas get collared for it their so called associates and friends in the clubs etc, will desert them in a flash.
Markymark
fans should speak out more against these allegdly corrupt managers and people in the game. if allardyce was appointed town manager i would stop going to the galpharm and complain loud and long.
Eddie01
me too these fans of clubs like pompey and newcastle deserve the stick their clubs get for not letting the clubs know they dont want the bung merchants "allegedly"
VanMan
the usual suspects, i see.
Towntalk
Sod off you northern presumptious gits. Some of us remberer playing you in the 4th Division in the late 70s. We've stuck woth our club ever since. So less of the holier than thou bollox.
storagematt
ooh er, missus, thanks for coming on and raising the tone, storage. lol
VanMan
ah yes the voice of modern britain, we must be thick cos we are northern, in one southern posting the level of debate plummets to the gutter, very sad.
Eddie01
Eddie lets face it, those guys support teams with virtually no local lads in the side, in the staff or management, the clubs have been hijacked by business, some corrupt.
VanMan
thats the reason these clubs get away with it, fans like storage.
Galpharm
bung up, pompey
Terriers
premiership, they should be in the african league or somewhere, Sulley Muntari, Arnold Mvuemba, Franck Songo'o, John Utaka, Kanu, Benjani and Lomana LuaLua, what a youth system !!
Hudders
ah yes makes you proud to be from the famous naval port.
Terriers
and they will be complaining that our national side doesn't do very well these days..
VanMan
sadly for them and the true football supporter, of which pompey will have many, the club represents a lot of what is wrong in football these days. shady deals, no investment in youth, no support for the national team by developing talent, buying success, supporters so drunk on success that they are turning a blind eye to anything remotely questionable.
Big Cheese
you forgot to mention a foriegn money man chairman, who pretends he is bothered about the club and country, really only bothered about making money, and a manager who was named in the panorama special, (good though he may be at managing he is not whiter than white).
VanMan
they will be in serious trouble when the african nations tourno gets going.
Terriers
dont worry about storage, hes a pompey fan pretending his club is straight, youve gotta laugh.
Towntalk
no dont laugh, cos it could happen here.
Tonytime
One day out and look what you miss. Pompey pahh. Bet Southampton are pleased Redknapp isn't there any more !
