Andy Booth out after only one game

The only down side to yesterdays victory at Emley was the withdrawal of veteran Andy Booth after a clash of heads with a home defender. Town's physio Lee Martin explained the situation to htafc.com

'Andy had a gash of around one and a half inches just below the hairline on the back of his head after a clash of heads. It was immediately obvious that he needed stitches, but unfortunately Emley didn't have a doctor at the game.

'As a result, we immediately took Andy to our own doctor in Leeds and he had the wound stapled. We were actually back at Emley for the end of the game and he is fine, although it looks unlikely that he will play at Bridlington on Saturday just as a precaution.'

This is worrying for the club and the fans, and serves as a timely reminder that 'Boothy' will get injured this season, and our cover up front is not all that strong. Even I thought he would last longer than one game, cotton wool anyone ?

Ritchie should sign a striker, pronto, if not before pronto, if not it wuill be the sides undoing this season.

cant see cadamarteri getting tons of goals, if boothys out we will rely again on beckett, and now with no gtf, akins could come good but really we do need more striking cover.
Big Cheese
schofield, and brandon can play upfront or just behind a striker, so no probs.
Hudders
come off it, no problem, one striker who doesnt score that many, cadamarteri, one who is young and to9taklly untried, akins, one who will be out injured half the season , boothy, which leaves beckett, ritchie is blind if he can't see he needs another proven goalscorer and so are the fans.

cadamateri was the next big thing at everton wasnt he? what went wrong there then?
Dales_Dad
they try to make me go to rehab, i said no, no, no...... got banned from playing for a while... big chance we are taking on him really.
Hudders
ritchie should use his contacts at old trafford and make a very cheeky, very cheeky loan bid for alan smith, who its rumoured is leaving possibly, who wants to play for middlesboro, blow the players budget on him, he would be a massive star here, get us promoted, and he's local. If only !
VanMan
alan smith, the fantasy football thingy hasn't started yet on vital, nice idea, possibility of it happening 0.00001%.
Hudders
i like that idea, about smithy, but realistically who is available that we could get in, any ideas.
Galpharm

Cadamateri was the next big thing at everton and many other clubs including Bradford, Leeds wasnt he? what went wrong there then? Sheffield United? He's obviously touring all the yorkshire clubs close to his home town, orry City.
WellyG
Smithy no chance - Bridges unlikely - Leon Knight this level is about his standard. Hayes would be a good signing
