Blackburns big boys come to Town

Huddersfield manager Andy Ritchie is confidant Town will learn from their disappointing 3-0 friendly defeat at Rochdale.

"We were way off the pace and it`s bitterly disappointing.

"The only consolation is that it was a friendly. Hopefully we`ve got our worst performance of the season out of the way."

Next up are premiership Blackburn Rovers.

Blackburn will come to the Galpharm having qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup.

They defeated Lithuanians FK Vetra 4-0 at Ewood Park on Saturday to seal a 6-0 aggregate win in the third round of the Intertoto Cup.

This could prove a very tough test for the side, as Rovers are clearly already in their stride, and back into the competitive rather than friendly matches.

Blackburn`s new signing Paraguayan international, Roque Santa Cruz looks likely to play against Town in tonights friendly.

Santa Cruz will hope to hit the ground running as Benni McCarthy, Jason Roberts and Matt Derbyshire all hit the net in the two-legged Intertoto Cup tie against FK Vetra and competition for places up front will be fiercer than ever this season.
