Jepson resigns at Gillingham
Former Huddersfield striker Ronnie Jepson has resigned as manager of FL1 rivals Gillingham following the club's fifth defeat in six games.
Jepson, leaves the Gills in a poor 22nd in League One with three points from five league matches.
After seeing his side defeated 3-0 by Southend on Saturday Jepson offered his resignation to Gills chairman Paul Scally on Sunday morning, which he accepted.
Huddersfield were denied permission to speak to him about our managerial vacancy in March 2007.
Jepson changed the squad radically in the close season, a number of the new players such as Efe Sodje and Delroy Facey had Huddersfield connections.
But last weekend's 2-1 victory over Walsall has been the only success so far this term.
As a player "Rocket" Ronnie spent three years with Huddersfield, while also playing a number of other clubs, Preston, Bury, Oldham and Burnley being amongst them.
With chairman Paul Scally expecting a push for the Championship this season the poor start and fans expectations, no doubt put pressure on both the chairman and manager.
