Huddersfield Manager Andy Ritchie is clinging onto the wreckage of his tenure as Huddersfield Town manager as we go into tonights clash against Hartlepool at the Galpharm.
Ritchie spoke to htafc.com before the game against Hartlepool tonight at the Galpharm.
'All in all, I was pleased with the effort from every player during the game against Port Vale on Saturday and I will be looking for the same tonight.'
Vitals view - you should be Andy, without that win, we think it would have been a trip to the chairmans office yesterday and a thanks for all your efforts Andy but goodbye.
'Hartlepool will be a tough side to face tonight, especially after gaining a 1-0 victory away at Millwall on Saturday - I'm sure they will be fired up to gain a similar result tonight. We must endeavour to put in the same levels of effort and performance tonight otherwise we will struggle to get anything out of the game.'
Vitals view - lose tonight and I think it's back to where we were before the Port Vale game on Saturday, with Mr Ritchie's hold on the job lessening daily. Of course win and the unthinkable might be happening, a good run, whatever next !
'We want and need the three points from tonight's game. It will be a tough test as Danny Wilson has adapted his team well to the pressures of League One football and will come filled with confidence following that fine result at Millwall. They will look to capitalize on this and gain something here. We will put everything into this match so that we gain the right result and continue to climb that League table.'
Vitals view - You called that right Andy, NEED a win is right, If we are 17th or thereabouts in the table come the end of November as we are now, my prediction is it will certainly be a case of NAF (Need another fella), that said Hartlepool are currently 10th in the table with only three more points than the terriers. They have certainly surpassed my expectations for them this season so far.
FL1 is a very open and competitive league and it's not too late to turn the season around, is it ?
I certainly hope that the only clingons come tomorrow are those in the star trek song (if you are old enough to remember that)
What is your view ?
