Long way to the top for Huddersfield

Huddersfield chairman Ken Davy only very recently announced turnover for the latest financial year at £3.97m, down from £5.3m the previous year.

To put this into context

Manchester United this week will again confirm itself as one of the world's richest clubs by announcing record gross turnover of £245m, when it unveils its financial results on Friday for the year to 30 June 2007.

The club's overall income still leaves it behind Real Madrid which in September reported turnover for 2006-7 of £263m.

However, in English terms United compares favourably with its competitor in the financial arena as well as on the field; Arsenal, the North London club published its annual results in September and it reported its turnover at £201m.

Chelsea are expected to join the race for second place behind United when it is predicted to report turnover of around £200m later this month.

Long way to go for the terriers then !

Maybe we could loan one of their stars for a week, or perhaps a day would be more in our budget, throw in a free Big Mac Meal !

It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll.

Any comments ?
