'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Huddersfield-Ritchie needs to speak

Sometimes things just don't add up, and for me this is one of those times.

Huddersfield Town have a squad and team of players that have either got to the play offs with the terriers or other sides, played at a higher level than FL1 or won promotion elsewhere.

Why is it then that collectively at the moment apart from on rare occasions (Birmingham City) they fail to perform to their potential, both individually and collectively as a team.

The teams defensive capabilities are dreadful, having conceeded 41 goals in 25 league outings, only bottom of the league Bournemouths record is worse, incidentally they are the only club now with an inferior goal difference as well.

Whilst I do not particularly agree with or find pleasure in criticising individuals, unless it is constructive in form.
I do think Andy Ritchie in particular as the teams manager needs to start answering some of his critics, not just on the pitch but verbally as well, if the steady decline in attendances is not to descend into an outright stampede away from the Galpharm.

The fans and faithful deserve more than the bland largely meaningless statements that are issued by the manager.

An apology, an outward show of emotion or anger coupled with a realistic explanation of what he is trying to do. Why he made the substitution or not and why at that particular time etc.
How he really feels about the lack of application and in some cases effort shown by the players.
Does he really understand how, frustrated, depressed and downright angry some of the fans are ?

The time to really try and get the fans on your side is now Mr Ritchie, because without doubt the managers honeymoon period is long gone, and he could be too, unless he tries to embrace the supporters in a more inclusive fashion.

Ritchie's time is up, the reason a man with his pedigree, Leeds Man U, Oldham in their heyday, is at Town is because he has no personality, other than Mr nice guy, sure lots of players say hes a great manager, they would he never drops them. More passion for the terriers in crufts dog show than in AR, Sven's got more personality. Tara.

With the exception of Mick Wadsworth, who will never be beaten in my opinion, Ritchie is now the worst manager we have had in the last fifteen years. He should just **** off pronto.

It is getting very difficult to stand up for Ritchie, will Davy swallow his pride and admit he got it wrong twice with Parkinson and Ritchie.
Markymark
Better football on local playing fields than at the over priced no vibe Galpharm at the moment. Diabolical.
VanMan
Its the players as well, who need to stand up and be accountable.

Wholeheartedly agree with Joe. Now is the time to wheel and deal. Too many of our first team academy graduates have failed to progress in the last couple of years and should be moved on. This is not to disrespect these players, as some will move on, play at a higher level than Town and complete good careers. Individually, they are all decent footballers. Our problem, touched upon many times is the blend of players. Physically, a shortage of pace, strength, height and competitive spirit is glaringly obvious. And if Ritchie wants to make his mark at our club, he must leave the sanctuary of his dug out and insist until he is blue in the face that we try and pass the ball ( and drop forever those that can't, won't or find it easier to launch the ball long at every opportunity)
