Terriers vs. Albion

Galpharm

18/3/8

1945

Huddersfield v BHA

One as in you and me, not one the number, wonders what will happen at the Galpharm Stadium before, during and after this match, which takes on more significance due to the terrible form and growing discontent that is being displayed by many terriers fans, with the poor team displays and at times frankly ridiculous statements made by terriers manager Andy Ritchie.

Brighton are sitting pretty in 9th position in FL1 with a genuine chance of making the play offs.

That's genuine as in the Oxford English dictionary definition of the word, not the Andy Ritchie version.

Vital Quotes:

Andy Ritchie - 'With nine games still to go we have to get as many wins as we can and finish as high up the table as we can."

Yes that's the idea of a League, thanks for that Andy.

Terriers Team News:

Could Daniel Broadbent feature again, or even Lucas Akins.
Jevons and Cadamarteri are out, Ritchie has the same players available as against Southend on Saturday

Player to watch: The Bench

Personally I will be watching the wolly hatted one a lot more closely than usual.
Unless of course the team decides to turn out as it occasionally does, and the action on the pitch is actually worth watching.

Albion Team News:

Matt Richards is out with a hamstring injury (full back), so Kerry Mayo should start in his place.

Midfielder Paul Reid and defender Adam Hinshelwood (both knee) are their other injured players.

Player to watch: Nicky Forster

I have long been an admirer of Nicky Forster, the much travelled now veteran striker is Brightons top scorer with 16, and has netted 4 times in his last 5 games.

Match Facts & Stats

Brighton have won four of their last six games the others two being a loss and a draw.
The game at Withdean in January was 1-1 thanks to Williams one and only free kick success since signing rescued a point.
Huddersfields recent form is very poor.

Match Prediction:

Bookies have it at 5/4 Town 11/5 Draw 7/4 Brighton. I go with the draw again. The other match result could be, a lot of noise and protest should we lose again. My advice to our hapless manager is to wear a crash helmet and ear muffs not his usual wolly hat should we be defeated. Also, whatever the outcome, - say something sensible after the game, something the average fan will believe, in short be honest.

No surprises with the suggestion that young broadbent is going to get a start against Brighton..Same old end of season scenario, nothing to play for but pride, pressures off, chuck a few of the youngsters in to see how they go..If they do ok pencil them in for a step up to the first team next season...Standard practice, and evidence if you need any that Mr Ritchie's tenure for next season is being/has been rubber stamped.. No doubt more youngsters will be given their chances to shine before the seasons over... With the pressure being off,and team talks now likely to be fucusing on next season, expect the players to get their fingers out from here on in (to save their skins),Conclusion against Brighton CONFIDENT TOWN WIN...
