Huddersfield Town travel to St Marys for the first time ever. The original game back in January was of course postponed due to the horrible weather we were having at the time
Town go into the game on the back of three consecutive away wins at Carlisle, Hartlepool and Tranmere and a good home draw against Leeds from the weekend.
Lee Peltier is not expected to be fit for the game having picked up a nasty knock against Leeds, so expect Tom Clarke to feature from the start at right back.
That could be the only change to Lee Clark's side as they go in search of a fourth away win on the bounce and to take all three points from their debut game at the new St Mary's stadium.
Terry McDermott spoke to HTAFC.com ahead of the game:-
'Southampton are a top team, who have made some significant investments over the years. They have players who have featured in higher divisions and I'm not at all surprised at how strong they look. They paid just under a million for Rickie Lambert this season too.'
'However, some of our best performances away from home this season have been against the top teams and if we can replicate that type of performance there is no reason that we can't take something on Tuesday night'
Good positive talk from Terry Mac ahead of the game, and I'm sure we can and will get something from the game. Terry's full interview can be read here Click Here to go to HTAFC.com
Connolly and Seabourne could return for the Saints after injuries, but expect Southampton to be unchanged following their massive weekend win against Walsall
Two good strikers both who have a pedigree scoring against Town, will need to be marshalled well by Peter Clarke and Neal Trotman
Lee Clark has a full squad to choose from with the exception of Lee Peltier who is rated extremely doubtful for the game, expect Tom Clarke to be named and James Berrett to take the spare slot on the bench.
The talented Geordie has many adoring fans in Huddersfield and has of late started hitting the net again, expect him to run the Saints defence in circles on Tuesday Night
Last time out:-
Huddersfield 3 - 1 Saints
This is Town's first visit to the new St Mary's stadium, lets hope for a winning visit
I expect a high scoring game and with me in attendance hopefully a win too Saints 2 - 3 Town
