Huddersfield Town vs. Hartlepool

Galpharm Stadium

26 December 2010

15:00

HTFC - Boxing Day Clash

Former Huddersfield Town manager Mick Wadsworth returns today with new club Hartlepool, for the first time since losing his job way back in 2003!

Wadsworth will be assured of a frosty reception, something the Galpharm pitch has been spared of thanks to the undersoil heating!

Hartlepool head to Huddersfield in good form having won their previous 3 games on the trot at Tranmere, Bournemouth and Yeovil in the FA Cup.

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark, who was once in the England U20 side coached by Wadsworth, is looking forward to getting a game under his belt after seeing the Brentford away trip cancelled at the last minute due to the weather.

Town will be missing regular right back Lee Peltier and Scott Arfield is likely to deputise with Joey Gudjonsson expected to start following the sad news that Damien Johnson is going to miss the remainder of the season through injury.

Vital Quotes:

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark

'We had momentum going into the festive period and despite not playing the lads are still full of confidence going into the weekend. The players are showing great togetherness at the moment and are eager to get out on the field and play some football. The fans have played a massive part over the last couple of games, when we went behind against Brighton they got behind the players massively and gave them the boost they needed.

Hartlepool manager Mick Wadsworth

I`ll be telling the lads we`ve got to be at it from the off because this is a massive task at Huddersfield; they`re a form team and have acquired players from a higher division.

"They have spent a lot money and have spent it wisely."

Huddersfield Town Team News:

Lee Peltier sits out his one game suspension.

Peter Clarke is set to return from suspension

Benik Afobe is back after taking part in Arsenal's youth game

Damien Johnson is out for the season, and Gary Naysmith is still a few weeks away from a return.

Player to watch: Jordan Rhodes

The former Ipswich man is on fire at the moment, expect him to be in the hunt for more goals today

Hartlepool Team News:

Keeper Andy Rafferty is pressing for a recall, but on-loan Jake Kean is likely to retain the shirt.

First choice 'keeper Scott Flinders is still out injured.

Billy Greulich is also sidelined

Colin Larkin, a name Town fans should know!, has recovered from injury and at best will hope for a place on the bench.

Player to watch: James Brown

Probably the key to Hartlepool, if we stop him playing then we have a good chance today.

Match Facts & Stats

Match Prediction:

Its a Knockout! in my book today, Hartlepool are on a good run, but today is where it ends. Huddersfield 3 - 0 Hartlepool
