Terriers vs Monkey Hangers

Huddersfield Town return to home soil looking for a vital 3 points as they chase down the teams above them in the race for promotion.

Tonight's visitors are Hartlepool with a 7:45pm Kick off.

The Terriers sit five points adrift of second position and look set to close that gap with a win tonight and hope that Sheffield United slip up away at Walsall.

Hartlepool are currently seven points adrift of the Play-Off positions having taken 45 points from 34 games, and gained a credible draw with MK Dons at the weekend.

Vital Quotes:

'It is good that we have got a game so quickly following the weekend - it gives us a chance to put things to bed,

'We have got two home games on the bounce, which are difficult but winnable games. We can try and be positive and say we have picked up five points from nine, but it should be nine from nine. When you look at the results from the weekend we gained a point; it would have been ideal if it was three, but there are so many games to go and many points to fight for.'

'They (Hartlepool) are team that work hard for their manager and have the ability to cause an upset. We will give them the respect that they are due and try and replicate our 60 minute performance at Bury over 90. On our day we are the best team in the division; the statistics prove that Charlton are, but I genuinely believe that player for player we are the best team. However, we need to go and show that on a more regular basis.

'It will be difficult for Hartlepool to get into the Play-Offs, but it will be a target that they are aiming for. When you look at the teams who are currently challenging for the last Play-Off place like Notts County, Stevenage and Carlisle it is going to be tough, but they have got a chance.'

Huddersfield Town Team News:

Peter Clarke could be fit to play if selected.

Damien Johnson pushing for inclusion.

Tommy Miller remains sidelined following Hernia surgery

Player to watch: Danny Ward

The flying winger has been in fine form these last three games and he could prove the difference maker tonight.

Hartlepool Team News:

Loan signing Samuel Adjei (Hamstring), is expected to miss out

Gary Liddle (leg) and winger Luke James (back) struggling to be fit for the tie.

Colin Larkin is a long term injury absentee (Knee)

Player to watch: James Poole

The on-loan Machester City Striker / come winger is on-form at the moment with an impressive goals to games ratio - currently on 7 he is a dangerman for the Town defence to watch out for.
