Leeds United vs. Huddersfield Town

Elland Road

Elland Road set for Yorkshire Derby

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN make the short trip down the M621 to face neighbours Leeds United in Saturday's early lunch time kick off.

Both sides are desperate for the 3 points but also the bragging rights over friends, family & neighbours.

Leeds of course won at the Town Ground earlier this season with Luciano Becchio particularly causing problems that afternoon, the Argentine has now departed and Leeds are suffering from a few injuries with Steve Morison, Ross McCormack & Tom Lees all rated as extremely doubtful for the game.

Huddersfield manager Mark Robins yesterday ruled out a sensational return for Jermaine Beckford against his former employers, which means that only Adam Clayton is in the Town ranks with Leeds connections, the midfielder is expecting a hot reception and is looking forward to it.

James Vaughan of course returns for Town after suspension and with a near 3,000 following joining them, let's hope for a good away performance and hopefully 3 points.

Vital Quotes: Mark Robins

"Elland Road is a great place to play football because the atmosphere is always brilliant,"

"The Leeds fans have got good banter especially when ex-Manchester United players come to town! I have been there plenty of times and they are always very vocal; they can be the 12th man."

We have had a decent amount of recovery time since our last game and when it comes to derby games, form goes out of the window. It will be an intriguing contest, which has a lot of things riding on it.

"We have been able to get one or two rested and have been able to get a little bit of work into one or two of the lads."

I have watched Leeds a few times this season and they have got some good, experienced Championship players in their side,"

They have got a good balance to their team with a good mix of youth, especially at the back. In the games that I have watched they passed the ball well and generally played good football. I expect us to have a really go at them on Saturday."

Leeds United Team News:

Steve Morison and Tom Lees face late fitness tests

Ross McCormack is also rated doubtful after taking a blow to his head on Tuesday night

El-Hadji Diouf expected to start if either Morison or McCormack are ruled out.

Paddy Kenny, midfield pair David Norris and Michael Tonge, plus defender Sam Byram are all nursing knocks but expected to feature.

Player to watch: El-Hadji Diouf

Unpredictable, a tricky customer and likely to start with injuries to other key strikers Morison & McCormack.

Huddersfield Town Team News:

James Vaughan returns from suspension.

Jermaine Beckford has been ruled out by manager Robins.

Keith Southern is still absent with an Achilles injury.

Calum Woods is fit again and pushing for inclusion.

Danny Ward expected to start with Sean Scannell hopeful of returning on the bench.

Player to watch: James Vaughan

Adds a whole different dimension to the Town attack, his presence was certainly missed against Charlton and what a game for him to come back into!
